I'd like to share with all of you my faith journey which most recently led me to my confirmation in the Catholic Church.
I've attended various churches throughout my life and always believed in Christ. There were times when I was distracted and didn't attend Church or focus on my faithful life. I always believed that God had a plan for me and that everything happens according to that plan.
I guess it was 2.5 years ago, when I was beginning to look for a new job. I prayed frequently & kept asking for a sign. I went on a few interviews & had offers, but they just didn't feel right. I received a phone call from a company based in Eric's hometown and they offered me an interview around the same time that we were coming for a visit. This was my sign. It took lots of debating, but we took it. We packed up & moved. We spent the next year connecting with local family & friends, especially Eric's younger brother, Nick. We made many memories & really felt that this was part of God's plan. About a year later, Nick suddenly passed away. This most devasting event brought us closer to the Faith. We began attending church regularly. I felt the presence of the Holy Spirit as we received the strength to go about each day. This church became a home to me. I was welcomed each & every time by the most friendly faces, received hugs & comforting thoughts.
I inquired about joining the Church & converting to Catholicism. I began the RCIA journey in September (just 2 weeks after Graham was born). I attended classes twice a week which really helped me learn more about The Faith as well as my own Faith.
When I found out I was pregnant, I thanked God for this miracle of life. I knew it was part of His plan and that I wanted to have the baby baptized in this very Church that made me feel so at home with my Faith. Graham was baptized in November. I was excited to join Eric in the Church & raise our family united in Faith.
The Easter Vigil was a beautiful Mass, where I was confirmed & received my first communion in the Catholic Church. I look forward to continuing my Faith & following what God has planned for me.
First, I'd like to thank Eric for bringing me to this Church where he grew up. I also appreciate your support. You amaze me ... I love you!
Graham - thank you for understanding why Mommy wasn't around on Tuesday nights or during half of mass. Thanks also for being a good boy for Daddy during church! Mommy loves you SO much!
John - thanks for taking the time, sharing your faithfilled life & walking this journey with me.
Family & friends - I really appreciate all of your support, prayers, cards & more!
Thanks also to God for being there for me throughout my life!
