Tape
We need to stock up on scotch tape around our house because Graham thinks it is used to fix anything & everything. I think this all started back when he would occasionally tear a book or a magazine & we would tape it back together for him. Then, he LOVED the new Nordstrom ad that had lots of "tick tocks" (aka watches) and he tore the page & got so, so upset...so, tape to fix...
somehow, he has connected "boo boo's" to the need to "fix" and "tape"...Graham hit his knee getting out of the table the other day & I'm sure it hurt..it was like the funny bone part of your knee...and he didn't cry, just said "boo boo"..."tape"...and went over to the kitchen drawer where we keep the tape, so Eric put a piece of tape & paper on his knee...guess we need to get out the band-aids?
Pull
Graham had a play date a couple of weeks back. When I got home from work, I was asking him if he had fun at Robbie's house. He kept saying "pull", so I thought there must have been some sort of pull toy there, and asked what did he pull at Robbie's house. He looked puzzled. So, I asked him what did Robbie pull? and he said "hair"!! What a tattle-tale! Robbie is about 14 months old & was really interested in Graham's hair & was pulling his hair (before 2nd haircut). Funny because Davis is almost 1 year old & does the same thing...fascinated with G's curls!
Two
There was a graduation party at Graham's church playgroup a couple of weeks ago. It was a celebration - they got certificates, had cupcakes and a little party. I was asking Graham about the cupcakes and if he liked them & he said "TWO", so I looked over at GaGa and she quickly defended that they were bite sized cupcakes & that they shared! Too funny that he was again, telling he & GaGa's secret that he got 2 cupcakes at the party!
Ends in Y
This one goes back before Mother's Day (oh, I'm so behind). At the church group, Graham learned about being one of God's helpers & helping Mom-my & Dad-dy. Every since that day, he has called us "Mommy & Daddy"; it is precious! Just melts my heart! From time to time, I am still Momma or MumMum, but the Mommy is just adorable.
On Mother's Day, Graham came up the stairs to wake me (the boy's let me sleep in)! And, he was saying "Happy Mommy", "Happy Mommy"!
Last week, I was getting him to practice for Father's day by saying, "Happy Daddy Day"...and well the whole way home, I heard "Happy Daddy", "Happy Mommy", "Happy EEE EEE", "Happy GaGa", and "Happy Pa"....he loves this game...even murphie gets some love "Happy MurMur".
Name
Graham likes to speak in 3rd person or refer to himself when you are asking him a question. So, he will say, "Graham play" or if you ask who's stubborn, he will say "Graham"...he uses his name alot...it's too cute to hear the way he says it.
He's really into a throwing phase. So, we are trying to be consistent & ask him to pick up whatever it is he is throwing (down the stairs, off the kitchen table, toys, cars, monkey's you name it). He kept taking his Barrel of Monkey's game & throwing them all across the room, so I would ask him to pick them up...he would repeat loudly "PICK UP", so I said "Nicholas Graham - pick up the Monkey's", well he loved this and ran around saying "Nicholas Graham....pick up...trouble..." He would pick up the monkey's, run around the house, then do it all over again since it was so fun!
Doo-ga
I guess this all started around Halloween. Graham would use the word "dooga" and we had no idea what he was talking about. He would also say "dog-ba" which we finally figured out was murphie's dog bed. "Dooga" would come & go, & anytime he would say it he was happy & laughing like it was something really cool or fun.
This past weekend, "Dooga" returned. We were sitting outside at a restaurant, and Graham was having a great time. He had a cup of water that he was splashing all over himself. And, was giggling "dooga" like he was saying cheers or something. This boy was having a party! So, Eric & Aaron decided to interrogate Graham about "dooga". What color is Dooga? Graham answered red. What does Dooga say, Graham answered, "no no". Eric then asked if Dooga was a dog & Graham started barking. So, the next morning we asked him "what is dooga?" to see if he remembered the shananigans from the night before, and he answered "a big, red dog". However, when asked if Dooga is Clifford, the answer is NO NO!!
I love this phase of imagination...it's hilarious to try & understand what all is going on in that brain of his!
